The Racing Connection.
Bob won 50+ races during his career including: the Tesistan Road Race, Mexico, Boulder Mountain Road Race, Morgaul Bizmark, Flagstaff Hill Climb, Keystone Classic Stage Race, Rapid City Stage Race, Larimer Square Pro-Am Criterium and 3 State Championships. In 1976 Bob raced a partial season in France; at the time, one of the only handful of Americans to do so. In 1977 Bob earned Best All Round Rider, Western US.

Shortly after retiring from competitive cycling, Bob Shaver created ShaverSport, in 1980. He applied his design skills, manufacturing knowledge and racing experience to produce high quality cyclewear fro serious cyclists. The passion to design and produce the best cyclewear available continues to this day.

The movie connection.
In 1985, Warner Bros. asked ShaverSport to produce clothing for the hit cycling film, American Flyers, which included the privilege of featuring the ShaverSport brand on the jerseys of the leading actors, Kevin Costner among them.

The ShaverSport logo.
Each summer when the snow melts on Mt. Evans, the remaining snowfield felts; it reveals the shape of a butterfly on an upper face that visible from several vantage points in the Denver area. The image lasts well into the summer. In june 2009, ShaverSport will introduce a special Mt. Evans jersey to celebrate this special mountain connection. (For people who are into Colorado 14ers, the Angel of Shavano and Mt. of the Holy Cross also have distinctively shaped snowfields.)

Mt. Evans holds special significance for Colorado cyclists. Not only is it the highest paved road in North America, it is home to the Bob Cook Mt. Evans Hill Climb, a 28-mile race from Idaho Springs. The intense elevation gain gives the race a special reputation with an uphill climb from Idaho Springs 7,526 feet to the Mt. Evans summit at 14,284 feet. When the race began, a very talented young cyclist, Bob Cook, was an unbeatable winner; he died in 1981 of a brain tumor.
